Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year. We are glad that you are joining us, as we embark on an exciting year of teaching and learning at our school. We look forward to seeing your academic and personal growth over the next year. After the challenging year last year we are super excited to welcome our students back to 5 full days of in-person learning.
Although Covid-19 is still impacting our lives we are fully prepared to implement mitigation strategies as established by the CDC and IDPH. This will include the requirement for all students to wear masks while indoors and on the buses, social distancing of at least three feet between students where practicable, and regular handwashing and/or access to hand sanitizers. Visitors to campus will be limited and all will be required to wear masks.
This year we will renew our commitment to be nothing but the best in all that we do, as we provide rigorous instruction with the expectation that all students can learn and succeed. We will continue to provide students with opportunities to address academic deficiencies, to build numeracy and literacy skills, and to have the opportunity to work on strengthening social emotional skills in response to the pandemic and daily lives. We will continue to implement initiatives to promote teaching and learning, and to engage all our stakeholders in the process of educating our students.
A major initiative for this year is to address the concern of social emotional trauma. We will work with our students to teach them how to appropriately respond to situations they are presented with and connect them with a trusting adult. We look forward to partnering with our stakeholders in this effort which will positively impact student performance in every content area, and in their overall academic growth and development.
We are excited about all that this new school year has to offer and look forward to working collectively as a family to ensure that our students are provided with the best educational experience possible to be critical thinkers, responsible citizens, and prepared to be successful in their endeavors after Sandridge.
We look forward to building relationships with all stakeholders throughout this year and encourage you to become active members of your child’s education. It is going to be an amazing year.
