Dr. Nick Sutton
Superintendent
My name is Dr. Nick Sutton and it is my honor and privilege to be able to lead this District. I have served as both a principal and superintendent in previous positions in both the Peoria and Galesburg, Illinois areas. I love being a part of this community because I feel the connection so many have to this school system. I am excited to be a part of the rich and longstanding heritage of Sandridge, and it is my goal to have a very positive impact on it.Professionally, my passions align most to curriculum and instruction. My dissertation research aimed at discovering the correlational relationships between instructional strategies and school climate, and I obtained all my undergraduate and graduate degrees at Western Illinois University. In 2016, I was awarded the Illinois Principals Association Western Region Principal of the Year Award, and then in 2018 as a Superintendent was honored to win the Western Illinois University College of Education and Human Services Distinguished Young Alumni Award. In addition, I am currently working on my first book within the field of education. It is about the topic of professional development, and should be published soon. However, my greatest accomplishment is my family. I am married to a special education teacher and my best friend, Emily. We share four children named Addi, Jack, Audrey, and Olivia. If I can ever be a resource to anyone in the Sandridge #172 community, do not hesitate to reach out to me.Dr. Nick Sutton
